The Sandpiper Brings a Taste of Hawaii to Pocatello

Sandpiper Manager Blake Novosel Offers a Taste of Hawaii to Pocatello

Reviewed by Michael Ward

Sandpiper Owner Blake Novosel has been successful in keeping his Pocatello restaurant a family-friendly place that serves the best seafood in town.  The Sandpiper is best known for its Idaho trout and delicious mouthwatering steaks.  It also has the freshest restaurant food in town, with their salmon and trout having been caught in the waters of Hawaii and rivers and streams of Hagerman Valley, Idaho just a few days before its cooked and served.

Tripadvisor.com rated the Sandpiper No. 2 out of 137 restaurants in Pocatello.

Unlike Red Lobster, the Sandpiper has fish that is even more fresh.  The Sandpiper also serves mouthwatering steaks and a variety of other delicious foods and desserts.  The Idaho trout I ate was fresh and had a delicious flavor to it.  The asparagus was soaked in butter and had a rich flavor to it. The potatoes covered with dark gravy were some of Idaho's best-tasting potatoes.  Even the Austin cheesecake I had was really sweet and good.

The atmosphere was just as friendly as the food was good.  Pleasing customers is the main goal at the Sandpiper.  Customer services is personable and hands-on, with one waiter per customer.  The restaurant itself had a ship-themed look to it with its pictures, architecture and the strong aroma of cooking seafood.  They claim to be one of the best places in town to take dates and families.

"Anything I can do to please my guests, I will do," Novosel said.

Due to the expensive food, the Sandpiper doesn't have as many college students as the cheaper restaurants like Pizza Hut or Buffalo Wild Wings.

Attached is my article review of the Sandpiper with the owner.
